Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Jobtide (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our job-search and assisted-application service.
1. Information we collect
- Account & Google profile: name, email address, and basic profile information provided when you sign in with Google.
- Career Profile Vault: CV/resume files you upload, skills, preferences, work authorization notes, and related profile fields you enter or confirm.
- Job & application activity: saved jobs, application drafts, approval actions, and audit metadata needed to operate the service.
- Contact-discovery inputs: company names, websites, and locations you enter when using Email Finder.
- Technical data: session cookies, approximate usage logs, and error logs needed for security and reliability.
2. Why Google account information is required
Jobtide uses Google Sign-In so we can identify your account (email and profile) and securely connect features that run on your behalf. Without Google authentication, we cannot associate your session with your Gmail identity for the optional email-apply feature.
3. Why we request gmail.send
Jobtide requests the Google scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send only to send job-application emails from your authorized Gmail account after you review and approve a draft.
We do not request broader Gmail permissions such as reading your inbox, labels, drafts, or full mailbox contents.
4. How Gmail authorization tokens are stored and protected
- OAuth access and refresh tokens are handled on the Jobtide backend only.
- Tokens are stored in a signed, HttpOnly session cookie on the API host — not in frontend JavaScript, mobile app bundles, or public config files.
- The Google client secret remains on the server environment and is never embedded in the website frontend.
- Sessions use Secure cookies in production (HTTPS).
5. Emails we send
Jobtide only sends job-application emails that you authorize. You must review the recipient, subject, body, and attachments and click approve before anything is sent. We do not silently auto-send mail in the background without that approval step.
6. Inbox access
Jobtide does not read your Gmail inbox unless you separately authorize a different Google permission in the future (we do not currently request inbox-read scopes).
With gmail.send alone, Jobtide can send mail as you — it cannot browse your mailbox.
7. How to revoke Google access
- In Jobtide, use Logout to end your signed-in session.
- In Google Account → Third-party access, remove access for Jobtide.
- After revoke, Jobtide can no longer send mail until you sign in and grant permission again.
8. Data deletion requests
You may request deletion of your Jobtide profile data, uploaded CV materials associated with your account, and stored session credentials by emailing us at the contact below. We will delete or anonymize personal data under our control within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for security, abuse prevention, or legal obligations. Revoking Google access does not automatically delete every Jobtide vault file; please email us for a full deletion request.

10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Jobtide after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
